May graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Accounting) in 2013 and was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2014. She also speaks Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
