A wealth of experience and strong connections to the local community, Carmelo Zagami graduated from Murdoch University with a Juris Doctor degree and is an admitted Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia. In 1999 Carmelo was appointed a Justice of the Peace. Carmelo is born and bred Fremantle having grown up in White Gum Valley and lived in Beaconsfield.
Prior to joining Frichot & Frichot, Carmelo has been employed at two boutique law firms, where he gained valuable experience as a lawyer in a variety of areas of law – from Property Law (including conveyancing), Family Law, Probate and Estates, Traffic Law, Criminal Property Confiscations (Proceeds of Crime), Commercial Law, Wills and Power of Attorney, Italian Power of Attorney, Business Settlements, attending Court; briefing Counsel and document drafting. This experience means that Carmelo understands the needs of his expansive and diverse client base and is equipped to deliver practical solutions to achieve legal objectives, as the case requires.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Carmelo worked in local government as an Environmental Health Officer, as a licensed Real Estate sales representative, at a property settlement agency, as a paralegal with a law firm in banking and finance and then as a paralegal with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in the Confiscations team.
